Zonta Club of SCV’s LifeForward Workshops
Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley’s LifeForward program offers monthly skill-building work-shops that concentrate on topics useful to women of varying ages and interests. Subject Matter Experts provide their expertise, knowledge, and skills to promote empowerment and self-sufficiency.
Initially, Zonta Club of SCV’s LifeForward program offered in-person workshops when it was launched over a decade ago. However, due to the onset of the covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the club began hosting virtual LifeForward workshops via Zoom.
In the last year, a series of LifeForward workshops focused on mental health including how to manage stress, anxiety & hopelessness as well as practicing self-care & mindfulness. Many people in the Santa Clarita community attended these virtual workshops especially since it was accessible via Zoom from the convenience of their computer or smart phone.
In December 2020, the club hosted another virtual workshop specifically for high school teens titled “How to Recognize Unhealthy Relationships”. Just a month prior, Zonta Club of SCV char-tered a Z Club at Golden Valley High School allowing the club to provide students with re-sources, information, and guidance to improve the world around them.
Zonta Club of SCV’s LifeForward committee recognized that many residents in the community may have experienced job loss resulting from the pandemic. The committee felt that they could benefit from financial and business workshops. This resulted in the launch of three work-shops in 2021 that focused on taxes, finances & entrepreneurship.
LifeForward workshops are designed to help participants believe in their unlimited power and potential, build the skills necessary to succeed, and be the powerful women they are meant to be! While these workshops are free to women, everyone is welcome to attend.
LifeForward workshop topics are posted on Zonta Club of SCV’s website. Please visit www.scvzonta.org/lifeforward/ for more information.
