Operation Red, White & Blue

by | May 1, 2021 | Community

The month of May is National Military Appreciation Month. Officially designated by Congress in 1999, it takes place every year throughout the entire month of May. Every year, the president issues an annual proclamation reminding Americans to celebrate this patriotic month that pays tribute to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. This gives us the perfect opportunity to express gratitude and show support to our active-duty service members, and our veterans. No matter where you are, even under Covid-19 restrictions, every American should take a moment to remember the service and sacrifices made by our military, and their families, on our behalf. A heartfelt way to show gratitude to our servicemembers, past and present.
Armed Forces Day, a federal holiday, Saturday May 15, 2021
On this day, we pay tribute to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces currently serving, as well as those who have previously served and sacrificed to defend our freedoms. We honor those in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserve units. Armed Forces Day is celebrated annually on the third Saturday in May, this year falling on the 15th. Although covid restrictions have prevented the normal celebrations of air shows and parades, we can still fly our American Flags with pride, wear red, white and blue and support our local military organizations.
