Join JCI Santa Clarita on Saturday, July 10 , 2021 from 10am-12pm at The Boys & Girls Club – James T. Ventress Clubhouse located at: 24909 Newhall Ave in Newhall. “It’s a Great Bloomesday’’ is a fun-filled event hosted by JCI Santa Clarita in which families can express their creativity while raising funds for a great cause. Marcia Rosales, Jaycee and owner of Bloomesday, will be leading families through an educational day of painting and planting. Participants will get to paint their own terra cotta pot before planting a succulent plant in it all while learning basic plant care tips to help their new plant thrive.
This event is open to ages 4 and above. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the duration of the event. Attendees will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Green Thumbs Nursery gift card. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite – quantities limited. There will be 2 options available:
Stay and Paint (snacks will be provided 10am- 12pm); $25 for JCI Members / $30 for Non-Members
Grab and Go (pick up times for this will be from 9am-1pm); $20 for JCI Members / $25 for Non-Members
“Planting something teaches children basic life skills from a young age,” says Marcia. “It shows them the kind of care, patience, and responsibility needed through plant care. Children feel invested in something that they nurtured from the very beginning.”
This event is part of a larger initiative “Pack to School” which aims to provide backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other supplies necessary for underprivileged children in the Santa Clarita Valley returning to school this Fall. All proceeds for this event will go towards the “Pack to School” supply drive. For more information on Pack to School, please visit: https://packtoschoolscv.com
To register for the event, you sign up through the Eventbrite website or app.
