The Season of Giving and Writing

As this year comes to a close, the American Cancer Society would like to thank its generous donors for their support and dedication to ending cancer. This year, Relay For Life of Santa Clarita raised more than $160,000 for the fight against cancer. It’s inspiring to have so many volunteers, donors and community sponsors creating a partnership that works toward saving lives every day.
During this season of giving, ACS invites the community to participate in the fight for a world without cancer by sending Love Notes Around the World. Since the Love Notes initiative began in 2012, over 40,000 beautiful cards have been created for distribution to cancer patients, caregivers and healthcare providers.
You can create your own cards or purchase them in exchange for a donation at the local American Cancer Society Discovery Shop at 26570-B Bouquet Canyon Rd. Designs and ideas for making decorative cards are located at www.ACSEngage.org/ACSLoveNotes. Cards can be dropped off at the ACS Discovery Shop on Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.—5 p.m. and will be distributed to cancer patients in the Santa Clarita Valley and across L.A. County.

The uplifting greeting cards and notes offer a sense of hope and remind each patient that they’re not alone. Feeling that someone cares about them helps patients stay positive and focused on getting well.
Generating funds for the American Cancer Society’s research and services is important and rewarding work especially when it means saving the lives of children afflicted with cancer. The gratification of helping ease someone’s suffering through a Love Note heightens the satisfaction of making a contribution to rid the world of cancer.
