Non-Profit of the Year Assistance League® of Santa Clarita
Assistance League of Santa Clarita has been part of this community for over 30 years. This non-profit started with a small group of women who had a desire to support children and families in Santa Clarita. Assistance League has grown to over 250 volunteers, working tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of children, young adults and families here in the Santa Clarita Valley.
On February 2nd, 2024, Assistance League of Santa Clarita was honored with the Non-Profit of the Year, awarded by the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce. Past honorees include the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, the Boys & Girls Club, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and Make the World a Better Place. To be among these past recipients is humbling.
Who better to convey the impact this award means to Assistance League of Santa Clarita than our president, Durinda Evanoff? She expressed it beautifully during her acceptance speech.
“I am so honored and thrilled to be here tonight to celebrate with all the Chamber Board members, businesses and the community. Assistance League® of Santa Clarita has been in this valley for over 30 years and was always the best kept secret in town. Not anymore! Our non- profit runs eight different philanthropic programs and has put back into our community well over four million dollars, supporting children, young adults and families. All of the money we raise from our resale store, various grants and through donors like yourselves, stays within the Santa Clarita Valley. Did you know our non-profit, is 100% all volunteers? Absolutely no paid staff. We believe a big component of our success and growth is due to our partnerships that have been made within this great community. We are extremely grateful to the Chamber for providing a platform to expand our business connections and to give us valuable insight to new business developments within Santa Clarita. Thank you again to the Chamber, its members and the Board for recognizing all the hard work put in by our member volunteers and for helping us continue our journey transforming lives and strengthen our community. Assistance League of Santa Clarita is no longer the best kept secret in town.”
Congratulations to all the members of Assistance League of Santa Clarita. If you are interested and want you can get involved go to www.assistanceleaguesantaclarita.org.
