FireStorm Benefit Concert at Six Flags Magic Mountain Supports Habitat For Humanity in San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys
John and Sarah Stenton and thousands of other residents lost their home in last year’s wildfires in Santa Clarita. To help support firefighters who were injured fighting the blaze, and to rebuild many of the homes destroyed, Habitat for Humanity (HFH) San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valleys has teamed up with UMGX Entertainment and Pacific Coast Concerts to hold a benefit concert Saturday, August 29 at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in Santa Clarita.

Tiffany: A Shining Future
Sherry Lambert wasn’t overly concerned when her granddaughter, Tiffany, seemingly came down with the flu, but everything changed when the three-year-old’s temperature shot up to 104 degrees overnight. Sherry rushed Tiffany to the hospital, and it was soon evident that this was not the flu. Tiffany was immediately airlifted to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for further testing. The diagnosis came quickly and hit hard: acute lymphoblastic leukemia — Sherry was advised to gather the family immediately, as Tiffany was very ill.

We are moving into July and school has been out for about a month. High school graduation ceremonies and celebrations are over. The excitement of having completed high school has waned. What next for those uncertain of their future plans?
The Sweet Taste of Charity

They say there was oil, and lots of it. I drove along the paved road that turned into gravel and parked my vehicle in the lot. Stepping out of my car I realized that this was indeed a ghost town, with a few remaining structures, old rusty equipment lying around, and the smell of sulfur lingering. But as you take a walk, you begin to imagine life back then, in this once vibrant and booming town.

COC Introduces Weekly Campus Tour Program

Golfing for a Great Cause
The Nicole Parker 2009 Golf Classic, the 10th annual charity golf tournament organized by the Nicole Parker Foundation for Children, will be held at the Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita on Monday, August 10. Proceeds from this tournament will benefit the Audrey Hepburn CARES Team of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and our supporting programs.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Opens at PAC on July 25
The Santa Clarita Regional Theatre is bringing this Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors to the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons for a limited run this summer. Audiences of all ages will thrill to this delightful musical as it brings to life the story of Joseph, a boy blessed with the ability to interpret dreams, who shares the message, “Any Dream Will Do.”

Senior Center Foundation to Host Summer Showdown at the TPC
Inaugural Fundraiser Benefits Adult Day Care Respite Program at Senior Center
Golfers of all ability levels are invited to bring their “A” game to the Summer Showdown at the TPC, the inaugural golf tournament fundraiser for the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation to be held July 13 at the TPC Valencia.
Presented by Lockheed Federal Credit Union, the tournament will benefit the Adult Daycare Respite and Supportive Services for local seniors suffering from memory loss illnesses, like Alzheimer’s and dementia.
