If you want the kind of storybook romance this Valentines Day that you’ve always dreamed of, mark your calendar for what promises to be an elegant affair at the Hyatt Valencia on February 14. While your heart is pumping for your sweetheart, you’ll be pumping funds into the future of the Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital cardiac catheter lab.
That’s because all proceeds from the benefit event, in their entirety, will be donated to the hospital’s cardiac care services thanks to the fact the event is being one hundred percent underwritten by Jacqulyn Petersen and Harold Petersen who have been married for 57 years.
The red carpet event titled the “Have a Heart Gala,” will kick-off with cocktails and the sounds of Robert Korda’s five strolling musicians followed by a gourmet dinner. In your cocktail gowns, your partner can sweep you off your feet and onto the dance floor to the musical melodies of “Art Deco and His Society Orchestra,” a 10-piece orchestra with a female lead singer.
“I would like to see people who have been going to events like these raise money for noble purposes and do so in a way that will reward them with a nice romantic evening,” said Harold Petersen, the President of Petersen International Underwriters in Valencia.
Petersen’s wife raves about her sweetheart of a husband saying, “On my 75th birthday, he honored me with a beautiful surprise party at the Hyatt Valencia in which the Grand Ballroom was decorated to resemble the world famous Coconut Grove Nightclub.”
Shelley Hann, President of the Hospital Guild says, “We all go to so many fund-raising events where the focus is on raising money. Since this is being entirely underwritten by the Petersen’s, the emphasis will be more on fun, romance and enjoying friends and loved ones.”
Per-person tickets are $150 and sponsorship opportunities for a table of ten start at $2500 and go up to $10,000. Program advertising is also available for $100 to $2000.
The Petersen’s will be the event’s “sweetheart couple” and if you’re lucky, you just might have a chance to ask them their secrets for a long-lasting marriage. Cupid apparantly struck a long-lasting arrow at the two of them.
