It snowed at Carousel Ranch on December 10 for the Ranch’s annual Day with Santa!  The day was icy cold and though it rained, both the day before and immediately after, over 45 riders and their families (220 in all) joined in the fun. As always, Santa’s arrival was the highlight of the day, with each child having their chance to share their wishes for the holidays.  Each child received a special gift, donated by Our Lady of Perpetual Help, whose toy drive made this year’s giving all the more special.

With the ranch’s western town lit in holiday lights, children enjoyed hot cocoa and treats.  The equestrian team at West Ranch High School, along with two local Girl Scout troops, came out to make ornaments with the children and to join them in snow play.  It was truly a day to remember, as the children made snowballs and snow angels, many experiencing snow for the very first time.

With the help of board member, Elena Blomgren, who organized this year’s Day with Santa, this was the ranch’s best Day with Santa, yet, attended by twice as many.  The addition of snow, was definitely a major attraction and we thank Union Ice Company for a discount … making it possible!

This annual event was started by the Delia and DiMauro families five years ago, as a way of bring our Carousel Ranch families together.  As many of the riders simply cannot wait in line at the mall this is often their only opportunity to experience Santa and have a special holiday event of their own.  As always, it was a special day for everyone and we look forward to a bigger and better with Santa each year to come!
