If life does indeed reflect art, this months celebrity sighting is a prime example.  Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah Montana, a character in the hit Disney T.V. show, was recently seen shopping at the Valencia Town Center Mall.  In the show, Cyrus leads a double life as a famous pop singer and an ordinary teen.  Santa Clarita is apparently an ideal spot for Cyrus to enjoy the freedom and anonymity of an ordinary teen and not a superstar.

Although her star status didn’t go unrecognized by a Santa Clarita Mom, Rose Anschultz, who found Cyrus while shopping in the Express store.  Anschultz wasn’t shy about approaching her to ask for an autograph to give to her 3-year-old daughter, Emily.

“If Miley reads this, I want her to know that she made my daughter’s Christmas,” says Anschultz.

Seeing how easy it was to get an autograph, Anschultz’s friend asked if she could take a photograph with her and the superstar again obliged the request of a loyal fan.

Seems as though the television and music superstar remains grounded and loyal to her fans, despite huge success at the early age of 14.  The daughter of singer Billy Ray Cyrus, best known for the “Achy Breaky Heart” song, has followed in her father’s musical footsteps with her current CD release selling 1.6 million copies in 2 months.  She has also appeared on Good Morning America, The Country Music Awards and live appearances at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

While music sensation Britney Spears is reportedly flashing her body around Hollywood, her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears is flashing her Elite Platinum credit card around Valencia.  Jamie was recently seen dining with two of her friends at the Black Angus Steak House on the corner of Magic Mountain and McBean Parkways.  The teen star of the Emmy-nominated Nickelodeon television show, Zoey 101 played it low-key splitting a steak dinner for two between herself and her friends.

Wanting to know if the turkey was real or processed at the area Marie Calendars restaurant on the Old Road, actor Ed O’Neill, who played Al Bundy, the shoe salesman on Married with Children chose another entrée altogether instead.  Unconfirmed reports say the building, formerly named Tips (prior to the time it was relocated to Lyons Avenue in the early 80s), was the last place the late great James Dean ate at before he died.

Doesn’t seem to bother O’Neill or current T.V. heartthrob Matthew Perry of Friends fame who ate there between takes of the new NBC network show filmed in the Santa Clarita Valley, Sunset 60 on The Sunset Strip.  Maybe it should be renamed Eat boldly on The Old Road instead.
