In our safe bubble of Santa Clarita, it is difficult to imagine children being mistreated to the degree they are reported to be in other parts of the world.  The good-will efforts of the Sanctuary Church, Canyon Country, have put Tammy Morrell and fifteen other volunteers on a trip to Thailand this month for 14 days to save children who have been or are at risk of being sold into prostitution or slavery.

Their travels are in harmony with the goals of the national organization ZOE, founded by Michael and Carol Hart (Carol attended Hart High School).  Their journey will include the spreading of God’s love through music, crafts, drama and puppetry.  Below is a recent letter from a ZOE worker who saw the meaning in the organizations efforts.

Hello everyone – I just received the most wonderful news from Thailand!

Because of your investment in ZOE, we have received the best Christmas present any of us could have ever hoped for.  A little 4-year-old girl was rescued and is now safe in the loving care of ZOE Children’s Homes.

The child is without a mother and was being terribly abused by her father who did not want her. He would tie her up with ropes around her hands, feet and neck and leave her.  Thank God for a Christian neighbor lady who intervened on several occasions to rescue her from certain death.  When the staff of ZOE heard about this, we went into full action and secured the child’s rescue. She has been with us for only a few days now.  Please be in prayer for her as there is much healing that needs to take place in spirit, soul and body.  She will be going to a doctor for a full medical exam in the next week or so.

Our hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude to our Lord and Savior who came to bring the child life and to each of you for the part you have played in bringing this child into the save and loving arms of our God and King.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Love to all – Betsy
