A.Allbright Painting has selected their annual $5000 painting giveaway winner.  They’ve awarded it to a well-deserved family in need who will soon reap the benefits of a shiny new paint job on the exterior of their home.  The A.Allbright team poured over written submission entrees and chose one based on the home needing the most repairs and the family needing a boost of encouragement, due to a tough situation. James Little, a dishwasher at Diamond Jim’s Casino, had utilized his GI loan to buy a home for himself and his mom during her retirement years.

Tragedy struck the family in 1999 when his younger sister, Tammy was killed in a hit-and-run automobile accident.  Not wanting her seven children to be split apart, he took them in with the help of his mother, Sheila Leavy and his sister Bonnie.

“I can’t wait to see it when it’s complete.  I still can’t believe its happening.  When we found out, I didn’t know what to do or say.  I was beside myself.  The only thing I ever ‘won’ was my daughter’s seven kids,” said Leavy.  Struggling to get by on his paycheck when caring for the children meant Little didn’t have the necessary resources to care for the exterior of the home.  But, no longer thanks to the generosity of the folks at A.Allbright.  You’ve made a difference in the life of a family in need.  It’s these kinds of deeds that are surely appreciated by the family and the community, as well.
