For more than 80 years, the Soroptimist Club has been dedicated to women and girls by giving them the resources needed to pursue dreams for themselves, their families and the world. On Sunday, March 25, the Santa Clarita Valley Soroptimist Club will hold its Annual Auction to benefit a variety of agencies in the Santa Clarita Valley.

 

There will be a silent auction at 3 p.m. followed by a live auction and dinner starting at 5:30 p.m.  Golden Globe and Tony-nominated actor Lou Diamond Phillips will make an appearance at the event with the theme Back to the Sixties and the loveable Herbie Volkswagen Bug from the recent Disney film, Herbie will also be on hand.  Guests will have the opportunity to stand next to the Herbie car for a souvenir photo.

Funds raised will benefit the Women’s Outreach Program and the agencies receiving the money will include:  Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Foundation, Child and Family Center, College of the Canyons Foundation, Senior Center, Sam Dixon Center, Domestic Violence Center and Single Mother’s Outreach.

Other auction items include: Bacara resort package, Ventura Harbor carered dinner cruise, years supply of fine wine, jewelrry from Ro,Ma and Classic Designs, golf packages at Robinson Ranch and TPC courses, interior design make-over and more.Sponsorship, which includes a table for ten at the event starts at $1200 and goes up to $3000.  Single tickets for general admission to the event are available for $85 each.  In recent years, the local organization has raised over $77,000 for the community.
