You’re gonna rock, you’re gonna roll.  You’re gonna have a rockin’ good time at the Canyon Theatre Guild’s production of Bye Bye Birdie.  It’s fun for everyone when Conrad Birdie (played by George M. Chavez II) get’s ready to shake things up in Sweet Apple, Ohio.

He’s about to go into the Army and before he leaves, he’s going to promote his newest single by bestowing One Last Kiss on the President of his fan club.  She’s 15-year old Kim MacAfee (Brooke VanGrinsven) and she’s just gotten pinned to Hugo Peabody (Morgan Lauff).  The whole town’s buzzing, first about the big news concerning Kim and Hugo (Telephone Hour) and then about the arrival of their Rock and Roll idol, Conrad Birdie.  Conrad’s manager and songwriter, Albert (Jeff Lucas) tries to keep his star under control while trying to keep peace with his secretary/girlfriend, Rose.  It’s a comedy of errors the whole family will enjoy and you’re sure to leave the theatre humming one of the many hit songs from the show.

Bye Bye Birdie is currently playing with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1 p.m., and Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m..  Call the theatre for exact dates and times.  Tickets are $11-$14 for Juniors and Seniors and $14 to $17 for adults.
