The City of Santa Clarita cares about the health of its citizens. That’s why you will be seeing a collaborative effort between the city and 40 local service agencies on Saturday, April 14 at the first annual community health fair.
Informational workshops will be conducted throughout the day on health and nutrition, infant care, hair care, beauty, safety and other important topics. Free health screenings will include: vision, hearing, dental, diabetes, cholesterol, weight, anemia, bone density and breast exams for women.
Nutritious food samples, raffle prizes and entertainment will be provided by local vendors.
“We want to further impress upon our community, especially those who may not have access to adequate healthcare, the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and that includes providing information to our residents regarding health, education and safety,” says Mayor Marsha McLean.
Services will be offered free to the public thanks to local sponsors Blanco Construction, the Soroptimist Club and the Robert Gore Rifikind Foundation.
The event will be held at the Santa Clarita Community Center, 22421 Market Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
