One of my favorites parts of being pregnant is seeing my husband’s glow (you know, that really great smile that overcomes his whole face) when he looks at me.

At first I was worried that my husband may not be as attracted to my ever-growing figure.  But he has proved me wrong.  He tells me every day how beautiful I am (and trust me, its makes such a difference when you are having a mood swing) and how much he loves me.  I love the fact that he kisses my belly every morning before he goes to work and every night before he goes to sleep.  I love that we read to our daughter every night together and he always listens to me ramble on about “baby” stuff.  I seriously could never complain about my husband.  Because if you ask me (and I know I am being biased here) I have the best one!  Sorry honey, I know I just totally ruined your image here, but hey it’s the truth.

This month, being that it is the 6th, I went and had my glucose test.  It’s a test that is given to see if you may have developed gestational diabetes while you are pregnant.  I was told not to eat or drink anything past midnight the night before. So at 9 a.m. that day I woke Kris up because my rumbling belly could not take it anymore and we went to the lab.  There, the very nice nurse gave me this soda-looking drink.  It looked gross but I drank it and it wasn’t as bad as thought it was going to be. It tasted like a flat cola.  Kris and I then sat around for about an hour and then she drew my blood.  After that, Kris and I raced out for breakfast. Breakfast never tasted so good.  I called the next morning to find out my results and hurray, I have not developed gestational diabetes.

It’s funny because I never thought I could take so long to get ready in the morning and at night to go to bed.  I usually just shower and go.  But I  have found out that being pregnant has made me a little more high maintenance.  I came across this product line called Mama Mio.  It is the best thing that has happened to me since I discovered how frozen yogurt calms my heartburn.  They have this wonderful shower cream that smells so good.  I think I will use it even after I give birth to the little princess.  Their belly oil and balm products are the best.  I’ve yet to develop one stretch mark.  Basically that’s the reason it takes me so long to get ready.  I am just enjoying myself making sure my skin (especially the Buddha belly) is well taken care of to prevent stretch marks.

This upcoming month brings a lot of new experiences for my husband and I, including the start of Lamaze classes, painting the nursery, having the furniture delivered and finally deciding on her name.  I just can’t wait for the fun to begin.  I promise to share all those experiences with you next month…
