As public awareness of child trafficking increases, many Americans are considering exactly what can be done to fight against this atrocious form of modern day slavery.

In Santa Clarita, a non- profit organization called ZOE Children’s Homes (ZCH), which currently has open doors for at-risk children in Thailand, was joined by a local church, The Sanctuary, in more ways than one.  Pastor Marty Walker called upon congregants to consider traveling to Thailand to help ZCH first-hand.  They enthusiastically responded by forming a team of 15 dedicated people who spent six months preparing for their trip by raising funds, collecting donated items and readying themselves to be vessels of love to the children and people of Thailand.

In addition to that, The Sanctuary also sent, with the team, considerable financial support to assist ZOE with the commitment they have made to be a safe, loving, 24 hour a day, 7days a weeks, 365 days a year, home to at- risk children, until they are adults.  Pastor Marty set a monetary goal he desired to see reached and the congregation quickly met that goal.  It did not take long for them to then surpass that mark and send the team with abundantly more than the original goal set.

The dedicated group recently returned from Thailand, having made a great impact in the surrounding villages, sharing the hope and sanctuary offered by ZCH, and also experienced the foundational truth that it really is possible to create change, when people unite to fight against seemingly overwhelming obstacles.

Founders Michael and Carol Hart, also natives of Santa Clarita, will be returning this month to report to donors and other interested groups, the great successes they have seen in fighting this battle for the innocence and freedom of children across the globe.
