In honor of our mothers I have gathered some well-spoken and favorite sayings that many of our moms have shared with us throughout the years.
If you don’t behave yourself, I’ll knock your block off.
You made you’re bed so lay in it.
Willful waste makes for woeful want.
Sing before breakfast, cry before supper.
What will the neighbors think.
You reap what you sow.
Don’t talk with your mouth full.
Treat others the way you wish to be treated.
Never bite off more than you can chew.
Beauty is only skin deep.
Freckles are a sign of beauty.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Don’t you dare.
Sit up straight.
Don’t slouch.
Money isn’t everything.
Chew with your mouth closed.
Manners don’t cost anything, use them.
Speak when you are spoken too.
A penny for your thoughts.
You are as stubborn as your father.
Be seen and not heard.
Did I say that?
Stand up straight.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
Clean the corners and the middle will look after itself.
Everything happens in threes.
A penny for your thoughts.
At least they are clean and paid for.
Treat others the way you wish to be treated.
Stand up for what you believe to be right.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
I love you all the numbers in the world times all the numbers in the world. This last saying is a favorite of mine, as my 85 year-old dear mom will be having major surgery in a few days from this writing and these words of hers will bring me comfort along with her hand prints that will continue to be a special treasure in my home.
Being that Mother’s Day is just around the corner, our moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters and special women in our lives deserve something very special on their day. Give them the gift that lasts forever and a treasure that will surely put a smile on their face. Personalized hand-prints will be cherished forever.
