Run or walk, it makes no difference, just join in the fun at the 11th Annual Castaic Community run/walk to benefit the Castaic Education Foundation, the Castaic Area Town Council, the Castaic Lions and other non-profit organizations.
The 10-mile course follows a beautiful and historic trail to the top of the dam and over is suitable for all abilities to walk and run. The 5K course is a wonderful scenic run that takes you through the lower lake area with mild hills. The uniqueness of our course adds to the enjoyment of all who participate. The kids 1K course covers some of the adult run and is relatively flat. Children aged 5 and under need to be accompanied by their parents.
Specially-designed awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category. All children who participate in the 1K Kids Fun Run will receive a medal acknowledging their achievement.
The Castaic Lions Club will be cooking up a pancake breakfast complete with pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit, coffee and juice for before, during and after the race. Breakfast is free for all runners and only $4 for all others. The fees are as follows:
10 mile run/walk with t-shirt $25.00
10 mile run/walk without t-shirt $20.00
5K run/walk with t-shirt $25.00
5K run/walk without t-shirt $20.00
1K kids run with t-shirt $20.00
IK kids run without t-shirt $15.00
Race day registration, add $6.00
Racing starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp. The 10 mile/5K run and walk on Sunday, April 29th at Castaic Lake is sponsored by the Castaic area town council.
