The Parents of a Castaic fifth grader find the special efforts of a dedicated teacher worth writing about. Here is what they had to say:
Mrs. Sue Savage at Santa Clarita Elementary School should get some extra recognition. All teachers do a great job with what little they have but Mrs. Savage deserves an extra apple for wanting all her students to exceed and excel beyond their limits. She is a fifth grade teacher with a tough mixture of kids and an extremely difficult curriculum to teach by. She puts herself and her time behind her in order to be there for her class. She works extra hours after school and is always trying to reach her students with as many new and numerous hands-on experiences as possible. Whenever our son needs extra help, she is always willing to help. Whenever my husband or I stop by during class hours and afterwards ,she always welcomes us with a smile. She has gone above and beyond to help our son succeed in fifth grade and she always has time to help us help him at home, with his work and all of his studies. We want to thank her greatly for a job well done and for going above and beyond her teacher’s hat to also become our friend.
Signed, Al and Tina Reano, the parents of Steven.
