This has been an exciting time for our City.
Last month, the City celebrated the grand opening of a crucial segment of the Cross Valley Connector Gap Closure which connects I-5/126 with Copperhill/Rye Canyon Roads. This 1.6 mile stretch of roadway is a critical link in the project as it opens up access to thousands who work in the industrial centers on the west side of town. I am proud to let you know that the City staff was able to get this segment open five months ahead of schedule to better accommodate the traveling public and the businesses in the area.
Businesses in the City are very excited about the new Enterprise Zone, which will provide them with tax incentives and economic development tools for enhancing their bottom line. For our City, this will mean more jobs at home and a stronger local economy. If you would like more information on the Enterprise Zone and what it means to your business, contact the City’s Economic Development office at 661-255-4347.
On Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the City will host its annual Arbor Day celebration at Central Park. This is the City’s 18th annual Arbor Day celebration and will include a compost workshop, free trees and tree mulch, bucket truck rides for kids, tree planting activities, a live band, food, our Parkmobile for kids, a rock climbing wall and more. Join us for this very special day at Central Park. The park is located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road and for more information, please call 661-294-2567.
