The SCV Film Festival is currently enrolling students for Kid Flicks, its summer day camp in addition to its ongoing Film and Television Acting Classes.
Its current after-school programs, which come to a close at the end of May, have received rave reviews from parents and youth alike. Participants make their own films from conceiving a story and writing the script to shooting the film and editing the final project. The program is a great opportunity for students to experience the joy of filmmaking at the new SCV Film Center. The Filmmaking Summer Day Camp promises to offer participants a special experience as well.
Beginning June 25th and ending August 10th, the summer camp gives youth ages 9 to 14 a chance to create various film and video projects including live action, animation and more. The camp is Monday through Friday and offers a comprehensive and fun filmmaking experience. The program will wrap with a screening at the Repertory East Playhouse on August 12th where parents, friends and family can see the world premiere of the various projects made during the camp. Students will also receive their own DVD of the films.
Additionally, starting in June, the SCV Film Festival will offer a 10-week series of Film and Television Acting Classes open to youth and adults. This program is a great opportunity for aspiring actors to learn valuable on-camera techniques, as well as to receive valuable career guidance and audition experience with an end-of-program showcase. And, as always, the SCV Film Festival continues its monthly film screening series at the Repertory East Playhouse with events in May and June highlighting quality independent films. Join us June 10th for the world premiere of two films made at the SCV Film Center by local youth participating in the SCV Film Festival’s After-School Film and Video Workshops alongside other films made by local youth at Junior High Schools throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
