Dr. Laura Schlesinger raves about them and you will too if you take in the sounds of one of Santa Clarita’s favorite classic rock bands, Back Pages. For the event kick-off, the band will perform in the Concerts in the Park series on July 7th.
What everyone loves about Back Pages is their ability to cover a wide genre of music exactly like the originals. If you close your eyes when they’re playing, you feel as if it’s the original artists performing, not Back Pages.
Jim Mooney, their lead vocalist and guitarist, has been a resident of the city since its incorporation in 1987 and is thrilled to have the opportunity to entertain his hometown on his 20th birthday. Other band members include Bob Vitti, from Agua Dulce, who plays keyboards in the band, Professor Dean Scheibel on bass and Javen Borgwardt on the drums. Back Pages has been performing throughout Southern California for the past 10 years. They performed at the Saugus Speedway Classic Car Show and opened for Canned Heat at the Route 66 Love Ride after party. Dr. Laura Schlesinger gave them the thumbs up on her radio show after they played at one of her private events.
So, pack up the cooler, grab some chairs and head out to Central Park on July 7th at 7:30 for an evening of the best of classic rock and roll. Don’t be surprised if you end up on your feet dancing.
