Robin Peters is the nominated winner this month for her outstanding contribution to educational excellence in the Santa Clarita Valley. The following was an essay submitted about her by her co-worker Ernestina Aguilar:
Robin Peters is a kindergarten teacher at Live Oak Elementary. Robin is not only an outstanding teacher, but also a wonderful human being. I have been blessed to work by her side for the last three years. She is my co-worker, but more importantly my friend. Robin’s excellent qualities are endless. Therefore, I decided to focus on just a few incorporating them into the following acrostic poem:
Thoughtful in all aspects towards students, parents and colleagues.
Energetic and motivated each and every day.
Always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face.
Cultivates love within every child.
Heartfelt and creative lessons that have an everlasting influence.
Expresses her love and compassion to all who surround her.
Reaches all childrens’ minds and hearts.
Robin takes a child’s hand, opens the mind, touches the heart and nurtures the love for learning. She is noteworthy of this recognition because she is a great teacher who inspires. Jackson Brown Jr. once said, “Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.” Robin is truly a teacher who teaches from the heart. Her enthusiasm and genuine love for teaching is contagious. She has influenced my philosophy of education and has shared her wisdom and advice. There is never a groan, complaint or any negative comment that has ever come from her. She is a perfect example of patience, understanding and tolerance. Thank you Robin Peters for all your wonderful smiles, advice and friendship. Everyone can use a friend and a wonderful teacher like you. We love you.
P.S. Thank you Santa Clarita magazine for providing this wonderful opportunity to recognize teachers who devote their lives to shaping our future.
Signed, Ernestina Aguilar
