“I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”
Nathan Hale (1755 – 1776)
This month marks the celebration of the independence of the United States of America and the celebrations across the country will be filled with picnics, fireworks and grateful pauses for the freedom we embrace and defend.
In late May, more than one thousand Santa Clarita area residents came out in support of those who’ve given their lives for that freedom at the Memorial Day Tribute held at the Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary. In memory of all veterans there were fly-overs, live patriotic music, an invocation, a rifle salute, the reading of names inscribed on the massive memorial tribute wall and heartfelt support of those who paid the ultimate price for freedom…with their own lives. May we continue to remember them as we celebrate the 4th of July.
