The advanced women girls show choir, Hart Breakers, must have broken the hearts of the judges in the competition held at the Manhattan Theatre. The group of 50 Hart High School girls is among the top three choral groups in the state of California.
“Only established groups that have proven themselves in their home states are invited,” says choral director Gail Hart, referring to the Fame competition.
The group performed a 15-minute program, including the following numbers, “Suddenly I See,” “Astonishing,”
“When Somebody Loves Me,” from the Toy Story movie and closing with “I Need A Hero.”
Special effects smoke during the closing number capped off the impressive series of songs.
Alyssa Mihm, a senior, was moved to tears after she performed and called her Mom from New York upon her exit from the stage saying, “I’m crying because I feel like it is the best I’ve ever performed.”
Apparently, the judges were in agreement and the entire choir was awarded the first place title at midnight.
Miracles can come true, sometimes with just the right amount of dedication and a bit of show biz luck.
