“For me, the highlight of the Poppy Festival was watching patrons and performers interact,” said Laurie Butts, special events manager for the city of Lancaster. “The sheer joy that appears on people’s faces when they touch an alpaca for the first time, dance in a Swan Brothers Circus show or slide behind the wheel of a classic car is contagious. Showcasing unique performances each year is what keeps patrons returning to the festival. Next year promises a host of new attractions designed to delight visitors of all ages”
Let’s hope Mother Nature is a little more cooperative for next years festival so the poppies can come out and play too.
