The new rebate program is finally here. It gives residents 100 percent of the reasonable value of their automatic water softener to be used towards a new alternative water conditioning system. It also pays for removal and disposal of the old salt or potassium-based equipment.
The rebates are based on age, make and model of your automatic softener. The program is limited to one rebate per home. Portable exchange tank units, where the softening tank is exchanged periodically, are not eligible for rebate. Non-salt water conditioning equipment is also not eligible. Wow, the timing could not be better to get rid of your old softener with very little, if any, money out of your pocket.
