Princess Cruises and Providence Holy Cross become the newest members of The Corporate 100 at a recent fundraiser and the dates were also announced for TTP/SCV’s 2007-2008 events at the College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center.
Over 50 corporate and civic leaders gathered at All Corked Up, for the latest effort to raise the necessary funds to kick off the valley’s own professional theatre company, The Theatre Project/SCV.
Among the many support groups organized to provide financial and other practical support for The Theatre Project/SCV, The Corporate 100 is envisioned as a group of visionary business leaders who see the cultural and economic benefits created by establishing a local professional regional theatre company. Privileges for supporters include performance benefits, inclusion in ads, onsite exposure, employee discounts and more.
The evening began on a high note when Princess Cruises president Alan Buckelew delivered $5,000 to join The Corporate 100. Later, another $5,000 was presented, this time by Dr. & Mrs. Richard Kuritzkes on behalf of Providence Holy Cross.
Andrea Slominski and Mark Salyer, the two Producing Artistic Directors for The Theatre Project/SCV, shared big news that dates had been secured at the COC Performing Arts Center for three 2007-08 productions. While these productions do not comprise an inaugural season for the upstart theatre company, they continue the necessary process of raising funds and building awareness and tickets will be available to the general public, as well as current supporters.
