“Food is our common ground, a universal experience.” – James Beard
The next time you are troubled about what you want for lunch, think international. Need a change of pace in your dinner plans? Travel no farther than your own backyard to experience the worldly delights of foods served in foreign lands. That’s because the Santa Clarita Valley offers a plethora of cuisine to choose from. For authentic Korean dishes, look no farther than Pho 2005.
Jung Hwa Ahn owns Pho 2005 with her husband and her hand and skill in the kitchen stirs up tasty dishes, including their Teriyaki Chicken lunch special, served daily.
Ahn is quite proficient in pleasing the appetites of everyone. Korean barbeque is one of her specialties and her increasing customer following since the restaurant opened two years ago is a testament to its goodness.
Then there’s the pho dishes, each one a fragrant broth with rice noodles and the meat or seafood of your choice. Try it with meatballs or perhaps shrimp. There’s a pho for each day of the week, plus one for a total of eight, each a definitive delight for the senses.
Ahn talks about the added benefits of her dishes for health purposes. She says that the Asian herbs she uses in them are great for cold sufferers, those who experience chronic fatigue and people who are diet conscious.
The restaurateur’s goal is for everyone to experience Asian cuisine and she serves it up in an exciting and friendly manner that makes you want to come back time and time again.
Don’t expect fancy accoutrements at the Newhall eatery. It’s clean, bright and simple. But, do plan on breaking out the chopsticks for a true Asian dining experience. You won’t regret it.
