With a passion for helping the community, The Magazine of Santa Clarita continues to offer photographs and descriptions of children in need.  Every month, we feature foster children who are in need of a loving home.  Meet three boys who would love to become a part of your family.

Donny and Douglas are two handsome brothers born in 1997 and 1998 respectively.  Donny is Caucasian and Douglas is bi-racial, of African-American and Caucasian descent.  Donny is healthy, personable and plays independently.  He loves all sports and outdoor activities.  Fishing, camping and video games are his favorite hobbies.  Donny loves school and excels academically.  His favorite subject is math.  He responds well to personal attention, especially from male authority figures.

Like his brother, Douglas loves playing all sports.  His dream is to play on an organized basketball team one day.  Charismatic, engaging and athletic are adjectives that best describe Douglas’s personality.  Following in his brother’s footsteps, Douglas is also an above-average student.  He struggles with maintaining peer relationships, however, he does great in a structured setting.  Douglas is in therapy working on past trauma and feelings of loss.  These brothers currently reside in separate foster homes.  They look forward to their weekly visits.  If you can offer them a home where they don’t have to be limited by weekly visits, call the Children’s Bureau to begin the adoption process.

Our third child this month is Mikeal, a handsome 6-year-old Caucasian boy.  He is a healthy child who is energetic, loves being outdoors and responds well to individual attention and time.  Mikeal likes playing with toys and is learning to socialize with peers and adults.  He would do well as a part of a family that can provide structure and redirection.  Mikeal also needs a home that can model appropriate coping skills and can provide a safe, loving and non-violent home.  He is currently in therapy and attends a therapeutic daycare.  Mikeal has behavioral issues that are due to exposure to family violence.
