Step 1- Electrolipolysis. Extremely fine needles are implanted directly into the fat layer. A specific current is used which produces electrolipoysis. When this current acts upon the adipocytes and the lipids stored in them it causes them to be destroyed and their subsequent elimination.
Step 2- Firming. Using the same needles as in the previous step, a second type of current is passed which has basically a tensile effect on the microfibrillae, which helps to improve the aesthetic appearance of the treated area.
Step 3- Drainage. The pathogenesis of cellulites is related to a microcirculatory disorder and also to an interstitial oedema. The treatment would be incomplete unless accompanied by some sort of drainage technique. In this phase of the treatment an excitatory motor current passes through. This has the function of producing a sequential and sustained muscular contraction in a centripetal direction. The action of the muscular contraction and relaxation produces a pumping effect, which facilitates the reabsorbtion of liquids. In addition, however, due to the properties of the system of contraction the venous and lymphatic circulation is activated in an extremely efficient manner, thus bringing about systematic circulatory draining of the liquid overloads towards the organic filters and is extracted through urination.
