Our minds and bodies function optimally in homeostasis, state of balance. The biggest threat to our wellbeing is stress. We all feel stress in our lives and a certain amount of it is actually healthy. However, when we feel imbalanced and overwhelmed, stress becomes destructive permeating all areas of our life.
Stress constricts our arteries, increases our blood pressure and blood sugar, causes muscular tension and discomfort, causes our adrenal glands to overact and become fatigued. It can induce unhealthy habits such as overeating, overworking, smoking, etc. Stress affects our physical energy, our mental focus, our ability to deal with others and our sleep patterns to name a few.
Our minds can develop a habit with how we deal with stress so that even when we think we’re okay with it just because we‘re used to it, it is actually harming us. Statistics show that up to 80 percent of all illnesses and diseases are precipitated by stress. If we don’t find balance with our stress it can develop into anxiety and lead to panic attacks. Often these attacks can seem to begin without any specific trigger. Once these attacks are happening they can increase in severity and frequency, bringing growing irrational fears and worries to the sufferer. Even the simplest task can feel impossible.
There are a myriad of medications, most with side effects, available to help people manage their anxiety and stress. However, we are entering a time in history where we are the most medically prescribed country in the world, where even kids as young as five and six years of age are being prescribed anti-depressants. It is truly unbelievable. The reality is that most people don’t want to live their whole life at the mercy of their medications. After all, meds may treat the symptoms but in the long run the dependency on them increases. And who wants to walk around feeling medicated all the time?
Hypnotherapy offers a different solution, a deep state of relaxation for the mind and body, and is clinically proven to be the most powerful therapeutic modality in bringing change to the life issues of anxiety and stress. Time Magazine called hypnotherapy the wonder drug of the new millennium, all-natural of course. For those looking for a more natural way to conquer their anxiety and stress, to feel more in control of their life and be in that state of balance that our mind and bodies crave, please consider this powerful therapy as a healthy alternative.
