The year 2007 is only half over, but one of Santa Clarita’s newest non-profit organizations is hard at work planning their first major fundraising event.  LETMESAIL, Inc., Lifestyle Enrichment Through Meaningful Exercise, Social Activity and Independent Living, is a rapidly growing non-profit organization designed to promote the social, mental, and physical well-being of individuals with disabilities and their family members.

Serving over 150 individuals, aged 16 years old and above, clients include individuals with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, hearing and vision impairments, physical disabilities, and a wide range of intellectual disabilities.

As a charitable, non-profit organization, LETMESAIL relies on year-round fundraising efforts, which include grants, donations, corporate sponsorships and fundraising events.  After careful consideration of the lack of festive New Year’s Eve activities in the Santa Clarita Valley, the LETMESAIL Board of Directors decided to host an elegant New vYear’s Eve Party.  Co-chaired by Board Members Stella Pilarski and Maureen Spindt, a planning committee of dedicated volunteers is currently soliciting sponsors for the 1st Annual LETMESAIL New Year’s Eve Bon Voyage Ball.

Stella Pilarski, owner of I DO Parties, states “This elegant, nautical themed, formal event promises to be the most exciting New Year’s Eve Party in Santa Clarita.”  The party will be held at the Hyatt Valencia Grand Ballroom, on New Year’s Eve from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.  The gala will include a delicious dinner and great entertainment by comedienne Kathy Buckley, a five-time American Comedy Award nominee as Best Stand-Up Female Comedienne.  In addition, guests will enjoy a live band and dancing.  Monte Carlo gaming tables will feature poker, blackjack, craps and roulette and high scorers will have the chance to win fabulous prizes.  Board President Gary Spindt says, “Of course the party will also include all the festivities of a midnight countdown, with a balloon drop, hats, tiaras and noisemakers.”

The title sponsor of LETMESAIL’s New Year’s Eve Bon Voyage Ball is the firm of Poole & Shaffery, LLP Attorneys at Law.  According to John Shaffery, “It is particularly gratifying to see the philanthropic results that come from an investment of time and resources.  We are honored to support the work of this grassroots organization in their efforts to help individuals who are differently-abled lead more independent, healthy and enriched lives.”

LETMESAIL offers a wide variety of on-site activities in their Lifestyle Enrichment Center, including parties, dances, bingo, movie nights, and independent living skills classes.  Program Director Kristel Shvetsov adds, “Due to our rapid growth, many of our activities are held off-0site and include trips to sporting events and cultural arts activities.  LETMESAIL offers monthly classes such as Tae Bo® exercise classes, a therapeutic art program, cooking and nutrition classes and new programs are continually being added.”

A number of different table sponsorship packages are currently available.  Depending on availability, individual tickets, at $125 each, will be available for purchase after November 1.  However, names of interested guests are currently being compiled.
