There are still a lot of homes in the Santa Clarita valley which have water softeners creating a waste called chloride.  Chloride is discharged into our sewer system from these softeners.  This waste cannot be treated by our wastewater plants and thus is released into the Santa Clara River, causing harm to the ground water, crops, and the river.

To eliminate this environmental problem, The Los Angeles County Sanitation district is offering a new automatic water softener removal rebate to all Santa Clarita valley residents.  You can get 100 percent current value of your water softener. The minimum is $325 and the maximum is $2,000 dollars.  The rebate is available to residents who unplug their current water softener.  Free disposal and pick up of old equipment is also included.  If residents refuse to unplug or replace their water softeners, the Sewer Tax may take effect, charging each home up to $500 per year.  For more information on the proposed Sewer Tax, go to www.lacsd.org/chloride or call 1-877-CUT-SALT.

Santa Clarita Water Conditioning offers an alternative to water softeners.  We sell whole house water conditioning systems which are environmentally friendly and maintenance free.  We offer a free in-home estimate and are locally owned and operated.  Our motto speaks for itself: “Clean Water Safer Environment.”  Come check us out.  Our hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
