November 1, 8, 15, 29 – Maternity Tours – An informative tour designed to introduce expectant parents to the hospital’s maternity’s services. You’ll meet the hospital’s highly trained and experienced obstetrics nursing team. You’ll also see the private labor and delivery suites, newly upgraded infant security systems and review pre-admissions services. November 7, 21 – Caregivers Support Group – If you are providing care or assistance to someone who is unable to care for themselves, attend this support group and learn about resources and information and receive support from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in ARU Dining Room, Nursing Pavilion. 661-253-8919

November 10 – Labor of Love Saturday class – This intensive one-day course will help prepare you for the birth of your baby. Cost is $150 per couple and breakfast and lunch will be served. November 14 – Transitions to Parenthood – Helping new parents dispel myths, set realistic expectations and understand post partum depression and the changes parenthood brings is this class taking place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The class will be taught by Dr. Diana Lynn Barnes, PSY.D, licensed marriage and family therapist and is designed to help couples overwhelmed following the birth of their child. November 14 – Holiday Grief Support Group – The holidays can be a difficult time when you have lost a loved one. Come share your thoughts and feeling and get the tools to help you through this time of year from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., November 14 in Foundation Building Room 4. November 15 – Free Community CPR Class – The American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR program teaches how to perform CPR in adults and how to help an adult who is choking. Classes are one-hour long and open to anyone who wants to learn CPR but does not need to be certified. Register by calling 661-253-8888.
Nov. 15 – Tyke Hike – Henry Mayo offers Tyke Hike for siblings, which teaches children how to be a big brother or sister and how to behave safely around the newborn. They also get to see where mom stays when she comes to the hospital. At the end of each visit, each child receives a gift. The group meets from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the hospital, Greeley Room ABC.
