I would like to explain some things about Oriental Herb Tea.  First, there are many kinds of instant tea, but the expensive ones don’t always mean they’re good ones and the tea could be different in the way we make it.  Even if it is an inexpensive tea, it can be a good one if made well.
1. Water — To make a good tea, there should be four elements to be considered.  The first one is the amount of tea.  Second, is the temperature of the water.  The third is the amount of water in the cup.  Pour until the water level reaches the middle of the cup.  It all depends on what kind of tea you are making, which we will talk about later.  Lastly, water is an important element to be considered.

It is true that water makes a difference.  Using spring water is the best for tea, but we usually use tap water, so let’s discuss using tap water for tea.  The tap water ruins the taste of tea because it contains some hydrochloric acid for disinfecting.  If you keep the tap water in a container more than a half day after you fill it, the smell of hydrochloric acid disappears.  When you boil water, remember that it is good to turn off the flame about two minutes after the water boils.

2. Temperature — The more expensive or higher grade the tea is, the less temperature is needed.  The high-grade tea contains more caffeine, amino acid, Vitamin C, etc. The amino acid, a sweet element of tea, starts being dissolved at 60 degree Celsius.  The tannin, an astringency element, starts coming out if the temperature is over 80 degrees Celsius.  So it is important to keep the proper temperature of water for the good taste of tea.

Instead of using the boiling water, use water between 50 to 60 degrees Celsius.  If you use 20 ml for one cup of tea, 50 to 60 degree Celsius water and wait about two-and-a-half minutes after putting the tea in water, it should make your tea better.  The oriental herb tea is good for your health.
