Saturday, March 8th will be a truly unique evening at the William S. Hart Park! To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the release of Charlie Chaplin’s “The Pilgrim,” the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society and the William S. Hart Museum will be hosting a screening of the movie in the Saugus Train Station where it was originally filmed!
In addition, for one evening only, Chaplin costume pieces from “City Lights” and props from “Modern Times” as well as Buster Keaton’s pork pie hat will be on display in the Hart Museum. Visitors will be treated to a buffet dinner where they will be able to view props from the 1992 feature film “Chaplin” starring Robert Downey, Jr.
“The Pilgrim” will be preceded by a showing of Keaton’s short film, “The Paleface,” which was partially filmed at nearby Beale’s Cut.
Tickets for this special evening are $40 per person. Seating is limited, so tickets must be purchased in advance.
A Celebration of Chaplin will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 6 p.m. at William S. Hart Park, 24151 San Fernando Road in Newhall.
