Did you know that looking at beautiful works of art and listening to music may contribute to better health? Being a co-owner of an art gallery for 27 years and also a musician for 43, I see how art and music have enhanced my life and contributed to my health.
As I write this, I am sitting here at 7 a.m. Sunday morning at the Powderhorn Ski Resort on the Grand Mesa just outside of Grand Junction in Colorado, and plan to put on my parka and ski equipment and go deep powder skiing. At almost 53 years old, the art business and music have not hurt my health. Both also give me a very spiritual connection to the universe around me, and they act like the oil that greases the rough spots of life, in my book.
What would life be like without art or music? I would say quite boring, to say the least. My suggestion to all is to make it a point to enjoy art and music and visit a museum or art gallery at your leisure and let the beauty of the moment fill you with aesthetic sights and sounds to enlighten your day and set you on the way! By the way, we play wonderful classical music at our gallery, as well as other styles too, and if you mention this article when you visit I will even play some mandolin and guitar for you.
