“Tommie’s Castaic Cafe” is a gem — a “hole-in-the-wall” diner whose enormous popularity stems from word-of-mouth. And there’s a good reason for that. The food’s great, there’s plenty of it and you can’t beat the prices. Give it a try — we guarantee, you’ll keep coming back. Just ask all the “regulars” who visit Tommie’s Castaic Cafe on a regular, even daily, basis. Tony Anderson says he likes the fast service and good food. “We love coming for weekend breakfast!” He says his favorite meal is the chorizo and eggs.
Tommie’s is known for its scrumptious breakfasts (served all day) and is now making mouths water with tantalizing dinners. Our $10.99 prime rib will make you an instant regular. Every Wednesday night, there’s all-you-can-eat Alaskan king crab for just $17.99. If surf and turf is what you want, then you can get a juicy, perfectly-seasoned steak paired with our sweet, buttery king crab on Friday and Saturday nights for just $18.99. Perhaps you’d prefer some real southern fried chicken or a beloved southern combination, chicken and waffles. If you just want it good ‘n simple, there’s always the messy Tommie’s chili burger, it’s a bargain on any day, but on $2 Tuesdays, you can get one with fries for just two bucks after 4 p.m.
Tommie’s has been serving up great-tasting breakfasts, lunches and dinners for decades, and the tradition continues today with new owners. Long-time Los Angeles news and sportscaster Rick Garcia loved the food so much, he and his partners Joel Forte and Rick Hoefke couldn’t pass up the chance to buy the cafe when they learned it was up for sale in 2005.
The food at Tommie’s Castaic Cafe rivals that of any fancy restaurant in town, except in cost. All of the delicious dinners are made with tender loving care by our night-time cook Jeronimo, who’s been with Tommie’s for 14 years. And don’t forget to add a cold beer or a glass of wine and homemade cookies for dessert!
Long-time Tommie’s customer George Glay says the service and the “down-to-earth” people keep him coming back to Tommie’s. He says his favorite thing about the cafe is that the meat is always good and fresh. Charles Olin, who’s been coming to Tommie’s for the past six years, also credits the staff and the good food. He says “I’m always happy when I leave Tommie’s.”
