Many educators claim that what happens prior to kindergarten sets the stage for later learning once children enter public school. Providing young children with opportunities to learn movement, art and cognitive skills during the important developmental stages they grow through from age two-and-a-half to nine is a must for parents. Following is the format of one successful Half-Day Camp in the Santa Clarita Valley that costs as little as $7 per hour.
Each day includes school time where the kids learn numbers, colors, shapes and songs in the context of each weekly theme. Playtime allows the kids to play games related to the same theme under the direction of their instructor. Gymnastics time is when the kids get to use the trampolines, bars, beams, rings, tunnels, slides, the in-ground foam filled pit, while the theme remains the focus of all skills for the day. Craft time is when the kids get creative using paint, glue, and other tools to create wonderful things to bring the lesson home to share with mom and dad.
This Day Camp is held at the Fun & Fit Gymnastics Center Valley Center Drive, at the new bridge crossing Soledad Cyn. Rd. in Santa Clarita. The 6,000 square foot facility is air conditioned, completely padded and carpeted for safety and instructors are specially trained in Fun & Fit’s unique success focused philosophy and teaching methods. Over 100 other gyms internationally are licensees of the Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program.
Defining winning as personal best!
Developing self-esteem is all about children experiencing success. That’s why Fun & Fit is completely non-competitive. It’s the nature of competition to produce more losers than winners and young children can’t distinguish losing from being a loser. By eliminating the contest completely from the learning/play environment, and by never comparing one child’s abilities to those of another but only to their own previous performance every child can feel like a winner! This can’t happen in a competitive sport facility where competition exists.
