What I mean is, notice in your car how the seat pan (seat pan refers to the part of your seat where your bottom sits) is inclined, forcing your hips to sit lower than your knees. Even in higher end luxury cars with an adjustment for this part of the seat, you can never really get your hips up as high, or level with your knees.
Unfortunately, this is the root of the problem and until this is addressed, proper sitting posture cannot be accomplished. So, just placing a lumbar cushion behind the small of your back often is not sufficient. The natural lumbar curve in the human spine will be absent until then seat pan and hip issue is addressed.
