Have you ever asked yourself, are you living your own dreams or are you living somebody else’s dream?  Do you even have dreams or know what they are?  Do you know we all have dreams and we have a choice to make them come true?
I remember in the second grade my parents telling me I should be a doctor.  Well, of course I wanted my parents to approve of me so, as a child I continued to hold on to their dream.  At seven years old, do you think I even had a clue of what it meant to be a doctor?  No, I just wanted people, parents, teachers, etc. to approve of me.  So, we are born with innocence, then people tell us what they want us to be and we take that into our adult years.

I always thought that people knew me better than I knew myself.  At about 12 years old, boys were cute and the social life looked like fun to me and my grades started going downhill.

I remember my parents sharing with me that they believed I had learning disabilities and that I could not be a doctor, so I might as well marry one!  Wow, I ran with that one for a while. My goal now at 12 was to be the most popular girl in school and have the most boyfriends.  With all the elusive princess stories, who doesn’t want to get married and live the perfect life?

As an adult, I realized that living everyone else’s story did not fill my cup.  I was so tired of being tired and I needed to make a change.  My first commitment to life was to mother my child.  No longer believing that I am not good enough, I start my day by believing I will make a difference for us.  I believe in miracles.  At graduation from grad school, seeing my daughter in the crowd yelling, “Mommy you did it,” was one of the best days of my life.  We sometimes even want our child’s approval, how silly is that; the truth is, we have their approval.  Now, after 40 years and identifying them, I am following my own dreams.

We all have dreams. Let’s find them together. I will give you the tools in three to six months to last a life time.
