Father’s Day is coming up. Do you have that perfect gift for the creative man in your life? Timbuktu Studios is here to make some suggestions that might make shopping a little easier for you ladies this year.
1. Get him a new camera. Some of our personal favorites from the point and shoot cameras would be the Nikon Coolpix Series. Some of the features are 10.0 mega pixels, amazing telephoto capabilities, several cool colors to choose from and they fit right in your pocket. You can also check out Canon’s new SD1100 from its sleek lines to its really awesome color selections. The PowerShot S5 IS comes with a hot shoe allowing you to add an external flash.
For those more adventurous fathers who like to have interchangeable lenses and more manual controls you could try the Nikon D series or the Canon D series both produce great cameras with a great variety to give you what you are looking for at the right price that you can afford.
2. Sign him up for a class. Timbuktu Studios has some great classes, anything from beginning to advanced Adobe Photoshop, beginning photography, lighting techniques, learning that new digital camera and many more.
3. How about a compact photo printer. He has the camera, now make it even more fun for him with a compact photo printer. He doesn’t need a computer he can print straight from his smart cards. The Canon CP740 is a great choice at only $99.99 or $129.99 for the Epson PM 260.
4. Apple iPOD touch screen. With the iPOD touch screen that favorite father in your life can download anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 photos. He will have his photos at the touch of a finger to show all his friends and family.
5. Create a cool tabletop photo album for him. Take the pictures from his last camping trip or favorite family outing and create a hard cover book for him from mypublisher.com, Kodak or shutterfly.com. These companies allow you to download templates that are easy to use and give you the freedom to personalize the book as much as you want. You can choose from storybook templates that allow you to include writing and captions or you can simply use the photo templates to just add photos.
These are just a few ideas from us here at Timbuktu Studios to help you with your holiday shopping. Good luck and if you get a chance swing on by we have an open house one Wednesday night every month at 7 p.m. for people to come get some coffee and ask questions about digital imaging and camera basics.
