The Repertory East Playhouse will continue its Main Stage Series with the hit Broadway Musical The Full Monty sponsored by Dessert Alert. “We have been waiting all year for this production. We are very excited to have a musical of this caliber on our stage. We have found some of the finest talent in Santa Clarita as well as from Hollywood and Los Angeles,” says Artistic Director Ovington Michael Owston.
Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during their “Girls’ Night Out,” unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun. As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, feelings of worthlessness and anxieties they come to discover that not only are they stronger as a group, but that the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to face their demons and overcome them.
“Taking charge of your life and following your dreams is what THE FULL MONTY is all about,” says producer and managing director Mikee Schwinn, “There is more heart and soul in this show than skin. It’s a very real, inspiring piece filled with great lessons for all of us.”
The Full Monty will run through June 14. Show times are Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18/$16. Advanced reservations are highly recommended.
