For America’s 77 million baby boomers, paying future long-term care costs remains their largest looming expense. With longevity increasing, according to the Bureau of Census, by 2020 the number of Americans 85 or older will double to seven million and double again to 14 million by 2040. According to US News & World Report, by 2050 we can expect for the first time in our history to have about one million Americans over age 100.

The average woman spends 17 years caring for children and 18 years caring for an elderly relative.
