There are many people who think that chiropractors and medical doctors do not work well together, well I am here to tell you that is not the case. Our practice at BKP Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in Valencia has a history of having medical doctors in our practice. This has many advantages for both the doctors and the patients. Starting December 5, 2008 we will be adding a new internal medicine doctor to our practice. Let me introduce you to Glen Marshak, M.D., C.N.S., Q.M.E., A.M.E. Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine, Certified Nutritional Specialist, Diplomate American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Marshak studied in Chicago, University of Health Science, and did his internal medicine training at UCLA. He has been in active practice since 1995 specializing in chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia, arthritic conditions, as well as hypertension, diabetes, sports injuries and general health problems. One of the more exciting aspects of his practice that he will be bringing to Valencia is his specialty in nutrition and medical weight loss. He can perform an evaluation and determine what type of weight loss would be appropriate for individual needs, weather it be strictly health and diet, medications or procedures such as the “lap band” or gastric bypass. He will also be available to evaluate industrial injuries and workers compensation. We have a full service facility with Chiropractic Orthopedics, physical therapy and rehabilitation with a Registered Physical Therapists, and now pain management, weight loss and general health with Dr. Marshak.
