Over 300 guests enjoyed a glorious afternoon of wine tasting, hors d’ oeuvres, an Autumn vineyard, music and more at the inaugural “Sunset in the Vineyard” event, on Sunday, November 16 to benefit Assistance League. The successful fundraising event took place at the picturesque home and Compa Vineyard of Jeannie, Chris and Tim Carpenter. Santa Clarita private vineyards and winemakers were featured, along with informal presentations by the winemakers. The wine growers and winemakers at the event were Tomas and Jenny Lukas, Bobcat Red Winery; Steve and Mara Prutting, Mantis Winery; Nate and Jennifer Haspar, Steve and Megan Lemley all from Dragonfly Vineyard; Roman Wieser, Whistling Winery; Danny Mascari, Bouquet Vineyard; Chris and Patty Connolly, Les Deux Chats and Jim and Carol Malcolm, Vintners Cellar.
Silent auction wines from Chris Carpenter’s private collection went to Jan Grant and John Hamby. John and Jackie Hamby and Don and Jan Grant were the highest bidders for an elegant catered dinner to take place in the vineyard.
Other silent auction winners, Lissa Brassfield and Roxy McManus will be sailing out of Marina del Rey on a day-long cruise.
