Canyon Theatre Guild will be featuring the art of Santa Clarita Artists’ Association members Evie Cook and Olga Kaczmar in their lobby halls from January 24 to February 22, 2009.  The exhibit will run concurrently with the performance of High School Musical, based on the Disney Channel’s original movie written by Peter Barsocchini.
Evie Cook began art lessons at a very young age.  After becoming accomplished in portraits, anatomy, oils and pastels, she started experimenting with digital art programs and began her career in graphic design, photo editing and retouching. Presently she paints and does graphic design, as well as giving art lessons in various media and computer art.  She is a member of seven Southern California art associations and has won many awards in several different media categories. Her range of work can be previewed at www.studiobohemienne.com .

As a commercial artist, Olga Kaczmar produced layouts and renderings for patent applications, exhibits and brochures.  Her computer-generated famine-genocide posters were shown throughout the United States, Canada, Ukraine, France, Australia, and United Kingdom.  In 2007 and 2008, her art was used to promote films and books on the Ukrainian genocide of 1932.  She founded an international organization and maintains a website to unite relatives and friends lost after World War II: www.dpcamps.org .  At the Canyon Theatre Guild, Olga will hang the more delightful side of art—landscapes, horses, dogs and cats—in oils, pastels, and watercolors.  To preview her work online, please see: www.olgakaczmar.com .

A reception will be held on January 31 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The public is invited.  Please RSVP at 661-259-5479.
