What it is: Auriculo therapy, an acupuncture or acupressure technique using tiny needles, stainless steel balls or herbal seeds,  which are loosely secured with surgical tape  to stimulate nerve centers on the ear that are directly linked to parts of the brain that control appetite. When the needles, balls or seeds are periodically rotated, they are sending signals to the brain that prevent hunger.
Proof it works: a study published in the Journal of the British Medical Acupuncture Society found that 64 percent of dieters treated with this technique lost a significant amount of weight within three months. Also 85 percent of overweight patients shed pounds without consciously dieting.

Who it’s best for: Everyone may benefit from this technique since it has no risks or side effects; it’s safe for anyone putting on extra pounds.

What to do: Press the points as hard as you can handle for about a minute once every two hours while you are awake.
Stories from Diet & Nutrition Magazine, People Used the Technique to Lose Weight and They Got these Results : A female 55, a travel consultant from New York City: “In two weeks, I dropped over 20 pounds and lost more than 10 inches without feeling hungry.” Another 35 year-old female, a veteran of hundreds of failed diets, she lost 15 Lbs in 10 days. She was chubby her whole life, so it was really the first time she could wear things like tight jeans and sleeveless tops. “I was shocked by how fast the weight started coming off,” says, an emergency room nurse. “Even though my appetite was gone, and I was eating very little, I couldn’t believe how much energy I had.” After only 10 days, she weighed herself and thought the scale was broken: she’s already lost 15 pounds. Her husband was so wowed; he gave the technique a try too and was quickly on his way also to losing weight.
