The roast on Saturday, January 24 of KHTS AM 1220 owner Carl Goldman at the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge No. 2379 in Canyon Country netted nearly $50,000, which will go to Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, Inc. to provide health care services to the residents of the Santa Clarita Valley. This year marked the 11th annual Elks Roast.
In addition to the roast, the evening’s highlights included a 50/50 raffle drawing and a live auction. Among the auction items were two purchases of batting practice with National Baseball Hall of Famer Eddie Murray; four purchases of an Elks barbecue for 30 people; golf instruction with Santa Clarita’s Bob Kellar; and dedications of an exam room and prenatal ultrasound equipment at SDFHC’s soon-to-be new Newhall Health Center.
